Congratulations to Martin Thorpe, field engineer based at the Cannock site for achieving forklift engineer of the month in April 2017.

Martin joined Briggs with a background in automotive.  Despite having no MHE experience, a personal recommendation and a shining interview set Martin up to start as field engineer in 2015.

Perry Hassan, Senior Service Manager said,

“Martin is one of those heart-warming stories that demonstrate that everyone deserves a chance, had Martin been rejected because of his lack of MHE experience Briggs would have missed out on a very talented individual.  Martin communicates professionally, slots into any team and situation with ease, and demonstrates a high level of engineering and diagnostic ability.  My team would have been so much the poorer and I would have missed the opportunity to employ such an outstanding talent.”

2 Sister’s Food Group were so delighted with Martins work and commitment they wrote a letter to recognise his dedication.Image may contain: text

All engineers at Briggs undergo in-house training covering health and safety and manual handling followed by a three day intensive course in the use of their ‘Toughbook’.  The Toughbook is Briggs’ electronic device all engineers carry with them.  The paperless system allows engineers to complete job sheets, create estimates, order parts, and submit reports all from one source.
